Powerful Admin Area
The Niddocks Online Shop admin area is our most powerful yet. It is jam-packed with features that are simple and intuitive to use. No programming knowledge is required.
After logging in through the secure login screen you are presented with a dashboard that gives you a very quick overview of your online empire.
Import/Export Facility
Have you got a huge amount of products? Worried how you might get them onto your site to sell them. Our online shop has a very flexible import and export facility that allows you to import and export your product lists through spreadsheets (eg Microsoft Excel).
Catalogue
The catalogue allows you to navigate around your product structure very quickly and update your categories and products with ease as well as update common fields in bulk with the click of a mouse. A neat filtering system also allows you to show just what you want to see.
Products
The product pages are full of features to enable you to manage your online shop. From the products page you can update all the common properties of a product. Along with this you can add additional images, product features, product options, secondary categories you want the products to display in, quantity discounts, downloadable files and associated products.
Product Configurator
If having products was not enough for you the system also allows you to have a product made up of a number of products governed by a set of rules. The easiest way to explain how this works is by example. The product configurator could be used to sell computers. A computer is made up of a number of components that are all products in their right and can be sold separately. Certain selections of products that make up the computer will restrict other products.
Discounts and Coupons
To help sell your products and promote customer to return to your shop you can offer discounts and coupons. Discounts can be setup on a global, category, product or user basis and can be a fixed amount of, a percentage off or free delivery. Coupons can be setup in the same way, but are applied via the customer entering a code. Both discounts and coupons can be setup to expire after a certain period.
Promotions
To promote your products you can setup a number of offers to entice your customers to buy. The promotions area will allow you to setup buy one get one free, buy one product get another product at a discounted rate, buy a product and get delivery free to name a few.
Orders
A good ecommerce system should have a very powerful ordering system that lets you run the business. We believe we have cracked it! Not only can you view an order, but you can edit orders, add to them, regulalry update a customer on the order status, send invoices, print packing slips, create new orders and even act on behalf of a customer through the frontend. Finding an order is made easier by the clever filtering system. Keeping a customer on hold while you find an order will be a thing of the past.
Customer Management System
Managing your customers could not be easier. You can get a whole range of information on your customer including some statistics about their habits and journey through your site as well as viewing their existing order and any comments or enquiries they may have made. Through the customer management system you can also setup membership groups that can offer discounts like a wholesale group for example.
Search Engine Optimisation
The Niddocks Online Shop also provides you with all the necessary tools to optimise your site. You can set all the meta data for products, categories and content pages including Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URLs and page titles. Although these can be manually set if you choose not to set them then they are automatically setup based on the name of the product, category or content page name.
Statistics
To monitor the performance of your website a detailed statistics package is provided within the system. The system also integrates with Google Analytics and any Google AdWords campaigns you may have running.

Not only do we provide you the ability to use a number of different languages we also provide you with the facility to update all text used in the whole website. We give you the flexibility to completely control your own website.

Multiple Delivery Methods
Delivery can be a tricky business. We provide you with the tools to setup a number of different delivery methods all running at the same time. The delivery can be set depending on the overall cost of the order, the combined products weight or the number of products being bought. This can then all be set by countries, zones (groups of countries defined and setup by you) or something more specific like town/city or even part of a postcode. We can also integrate a number of couriers into the system. Below are some couriers we have integrated with:

Advertising
If you have a large amount of traffic coming to your website you can increase your revenue streams by advertising other companies that you select on your website and charging for it. If not another company how about advertising your own products or services. You could even advertise for any sister companies you may have. There is a tool on there that will allow you to manage any adverts you want to use and where they will appear.
Form Builder
A very useful feature of Niddocks Online Shop is that it has a form builder. This allows you to create a form and build the fields you require. You can choose what type of field you want and whether it is required or not. You can then choose where the form data is emailed and what message is given to the customer when they succesfully complete it. The forms are all validated and checked to prevent SPAMMING.
Content Management System
Although this is an ecommerce package we even found time to add a simple content management system, so you can update any content pages that are on the site. Content pages can be arranged in categories, which can be useful for informational pages.
Newsletters
The system provides a small form that allows customer to subscribe and unsubscribe to a newsletter. You can then use this captured data to send regular newsletters out. Although the system provides a basic newsletter facility we recommend you consider our newsletter service for sending out serious newsletter campaigns.
Comments and Reviews
In order to help improve your customer service it is importnat to know what your ciustomers think. Our package allows you to manage the feedback and comments made my customers as well as moderate them. You can then display selected comments and feedback as testimony to your great service. This is great for building your brand and credability with customers.
What will Niddocks do?
The e-commerce package is a commercial application that we license for your website. We will install the package and then perform all necessary configurations for your website. This configuration will include the following (this is not a complete list):
- Company information
- Localisation (i.e. location, currency, language)
- Administrative users
- Email wording and personalisation
- Anglicising the package (i.e. remove all American spellings)
- Setup shipping methods
We will develop a design from your initial breif and allow up to two sets of modifications for you.
We understand the need to ensure that the look and feel of the site design evokes an impression of professionalism and credibility. We will evaluate any existing branding and websites that you liked the “look and feel” of and put together a design that we feel will be the starting point to move the project forward.
We will integrate a payment processor into your website. Once the payment processor is integrated we will thoroughly test the website through a range of scenarios, for example:
- Correct and valid card information, with correct addresses (i.e. authenticated order)
- Invalid card data
- Payment declined
- Invalid billing address
- Fraud review
We will take the approved graphical design and develop a master template for the content management system. This template controls the overall structure of the website and will be developed using valid HTML and CSS and will employ the latest techniques to achieve a website that conforms to the latest disability standards. The images used will be fully optimised to make sure the website loads up as quickly as possible without relying on visitors having a quick Internet connection. The styles used to determine how the elements of the site are displayed are all controlled from a single style sheet. This allows changes in the look and feel of the website to be made in one place quickly and easily.
We will create up to 5 forms that will allow customers to submit information to you without them needing email setup on their machine. This is an ideal way to allow potential customers to enquire.
We will develop each form with up to 20 fields. On submission of the form the data will be vaildated first and checked to ensure it is not SPAM.

An SSL certificate is a security certificate that protects your website and makes it easy for customers to trust you. An SSL certificate works by encrypting the information that is sent between a visitor and your site. This keeps this information secure should it be intercepted maliciously.
A secure website with an SSL certificate is commonly shown on many Internet browsers by a golden padlock. Many potential customers look for this when purchasing online and when your website does not have one it may cause them to leave your website for a competitor’s website.
If your website takes payments online or processes sensitive personal information then we recommend you obtain an SSL certificate. We can provide you with an SSL certificate and would set this up with your hosting package.
What will you need to do?
It would be worth having a look at some existing websites to see if there any you like the "look and feel" of. You can also take a look at our portfolio if you need some inspiration.
Have a think about what colours you also like and provide us with any existing artwork you may already have in electronic format. If you have printed media then access to this would be advantageous to ensure the design themes are consistent through your printed and digital media.
We will require the information provided to you by your payment processor provider in order to integrate the payment processor into the website.

If you would like us to pre-populate the website with your products then we ask that you can provide the product information (names, descriptions, options, prices, photos, etc) in an electronic format. By providing the information electronically means we can cut down the time required and reduce the costs to you.
Manufacturers and/or distributors/suppliers often have access to data files that contain much of the necessary information to populate the product inventory. If you do not have access to this information electronically but would like us to perform the initial population of the inventory then we can supply an Excel spreadsheet template which can be filled in.

The content management system provides all the tools necessary to add and update the content on your website. If you would like us to pre-populate the website with your content then we ask that you can provide the content in an electronic format. Receiving the content off a client can sometimes be the main cause in delaying a project. It is important to think about this when you first start thinking about your website. We will need the content in an electronic format (eg, Microsoft Word).
For the forms used throughout the website we will need to know what fields you would like and which of those are required. We will also need the content of any messages or emails you want to use. We have standard content for this if required. We will need the email address(es) you would like to send the data submitted by the forms to.
